I was born in 1945 in Germany and my love of art started from a very early age.
I was growing up in a family they were open-minded for creative work and all kinds of art.
My father was an artist for oil painting and I was influenced by the impressionists, especially by Marc Chagall and Emil Nolde. I believed that we all have a room of imagination, and for me this was a way to transform difficulties and hard-times of my life into a world of magic. Later I got involved in the art of the Pre-Raphaelites. I have studied the work of William Morris, Ruskin and Walter Crane. My interest was in the Arts and Crafts-Philosophy as a form of thinking, working and living. I did an apprentice in a guild of Arts and Crafts for four years. Later I had my own craft-shop with Gallery and exhibited other artists. Before I moved in 2001 to England, I did a course for instruction in group dynamic to work with children and adults in workshops. Since I am here I do Open Houses and exhibitions, especially for children to set their imagination free. Now I see my paintings as a rhythmic lyrical response to the play of light and forms. I observe from my room the coastal landscape… But the essence always for me was and is the expression of movement and colour reveal simple modest things, that have a soul. |
